How to create a local banking system
Ross Haig
Communications Officer

Our banking system is in deep trouble and it is clear that small businesses and local economies are taking disproportionate amounts of pain as a result. A new, strong local banking system is urgently needed in this emergency.
nef's conference on local banking last week demonstrated how we might go about creating the strong local banking system we desperately need. Delegates heard what is already being done to re-shape a banking system for local economies, both in the UK and internationally, and how to adapt the current regulatory system to allow for effective local banking.
Listen below to hear what some of the event speakers recommend as the first steps towards creating a local banking infrastructure in the UK.
You can also download the briefing paper given out to delegates on the day.
