how can democs be used?
 |
 |
Democs can be used to:
- Inform people about a particular topic. Democs enables players to identify and absorb the basic information they need to discuss an issue that may be complex and that they may not have discussed before. All the information is included in the kit - there's no need to know anything beforehand about the topic.
- Stimulate discussion. Democs is like having a process for a conversation. It can be used to develop verbal communication and thinking skills. It encourages deliberation rather than debate.
- Enable people to seek common ground on what policies could be adopted on an issue. Democs can be used to involve people in decision-making. It is a flexible approach- games can be played in pubs, cafes or community centres to gauge public views on an issue, over a given time span.
