Chief Executive Officer

Deadline for applications: Friday 11 September 2015, 9.00 (BST)

The New Economics Foundation (NEF) is the UK’s leading independent think tank promoting social, economic and environmental justice.

NEF is highly regarded for its ground-breaking research, and for its works in partnership with organisations and communities to put its ideas into action. Through its research and its pioneering thought leadership, NEF continues its mission to build a new economy – one which truly serves the interests of people and the planet.

For the past twelve years Stewart Wallis has steered NEF through a period of growth and increasing influence in political and public policy arenas. Through applied research, practical policy advice and action, and debate, NEF is increasingly mainstreaming economic and social policy ideas that put people and the planet first.

While keeping one eye on Westminster, NEF is also building a movement for change with a range of campaigners from across civil society. Unlike most other UK think tanks, it has international outreach: in funding, research, and campaigning partnership.

NEF is now seeking a new CEO to provide vision and strategic leadership to build upon and develop its role at the forefront of innovative thinking; its ability to attract and retain the next generation of global thought leaders; its role as a convening power in an increasingly competitive, informed and globalised world; and its financial foundations.

Working with partners in the public, not-for-profit and private sectors, the new CEO will lead NEF to ever greater influence, catalysing a movement that will bring about systemic economic, social and environmental change.

With proven leadership and management experience, strong networks and external engagement and fundraising credentials, the CEO will work with the Board to ensure NEF remains at the forefront of innovative economic thinking; as a strong advocate for our vision and by maintaining and expanding funding and supporter networks.
