Dr Alex Chapman

Alex works on the economics of energy, transport and climate change. He leads NEF’s programme of work on air transport and tourism. Alex’s reports for NEF have looked at topics such as a frequent flyer levy, a national energy guarantee, and the distribution of access to nature across the UK. Previously in NEF Consulting, Alex led a wide range of economic impact assessments and advised the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales on carbon impact assessment of the Welsh Government budget. Prior to joining NEF Alex completed his PhD at the University of Southampton and held multiple research and consultancy positions through which he provided support to decision makers in governments and development banks on adaptation investment and climate risk assessment.
